about:
Viewer - collaborators are invited to divulge thoughts about Australian settlement. Writing directly onto photographs that depict aspects of settlerhood, the message becomes public knowledge. The writer is made aware of her bodily and political environment by the need, in one instance, to stand on a makeshift Union flag (Union Jack) to access the 'message board'. The flag also features in an accompanying video (Butchers Apron), where a discordant version of the Australian national anthem plays in the background.
